A series of Hannah Marie Field’s paintings will be featured in a group exhibition at UBS Gallery in Red Hook, NY. The opening reception will be on the evening of December 4, 2010. Work will be on display until December 18, 2010.

Hannah Marie Field is currently working on paintings for her Bard College Senior Project and commencement in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. The exhibit will consist entirely of self-portraiture, which she views as an exploration of her physical, psychological, emotional, and mental selves. In attempt to capture her various states of being, Field hopes to grapple with the concept of the “Artist” and what it entails to be one. Each human being is brought into the world with the burden of “discovering” his or her “True” self. The enormous weight of this task is the fact that people, as individuals, are constantly evolving into different states of being each instant. The intent of Field’s exhibition is to begin unraveling what this means for herself, capturing moments of her fragmented being over the course of time.
